Badimalika Trek is one of the youngest trekking trails that were recognized by the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) that had the possibility of offering its visitors wonderful Himalayas views that includes Api and Saipal Himal along with religious values that this temple holds.
Badimalika trekking is named after a temple situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level on top of a hill in the Bajura district. During the festival of Janai Purnima in August, Badimalika Temple receives a huge number of pilgrims.
Badimalika Trekking not only offers magnificent views of the mountains but also is rich in flora and fauna. With around 250 species of birds, the forests of this region are home to some of the rare wildlife like musk deer, bear, leopard, barking deer. The local inhabitants of this region are very friendly and have some unique dance forms like Deuda, Hudkeuli, Bhuwo, and Thadi.
Badimalika trekking trail begins after a flight to Dhangadi from where we get on the jeep to drive towards Kerala. Passing the villages of Tribeni Badimalika, Natshwori and Moura we return to Dhangadi. On your way back you also have the option to head to Sukhla Phata National Park.
History of the Badimalika Temple, Nepal
Badimalika Temple is located on the summit of a hilltop (4,200 meters) in the Bajura district. This temple has a fair every year in the month of Bhadra (August). Pilgrims go from all over Nepal in the hopes of having their desires granted if they worship at the temple. During Ganga Dashara and Janai Purnima, there are two official fairs. Because the region is new, hikers are advised to employ local guides because the path is devoid of signposts and other infrastructure.
