Kyle Seager is a professional baseball third baseman from the United States who spent his entire career with the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2011 to 2021.
He was drafted in the third round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Mariners and made his MLB debut in 2011. Seager was named an All-Star and received a Gold Glove Award in 2014.

Kyle Seager was born on November 3, 1987 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the eldest son of Jeff and Jody Seager’s three baseball-playing sons. Seager grew up a devoted New York Yankees fan who idolized Derek Jeter.
His younger brother Corey Seager was selected 18th overall by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2012 MLB Draft and went on to become the 2016 National League Rookie of the Year. Their youngest brother Justin Seager was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 2013.
Seager attended Northwest Cabarrus High School in Kannapolis, North Carolina where he excelled on the baseball team. He was named Co-North Carolina Player of the Year alongside future MLB pitcher Madison Bumgarner.
After high school, Seager played college baseball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). He was a standout third baseman for the Tar Heels alongside future big leaguer Dustin Ackley.

Kyle Seager met his future wife, Julie, in his home state of North Carolina. Seager married Julie in 2011 when she was 25 years old. The couple settled down on a farm in North Carolina, where they have raised three young children together.

On December 29, 2021, Kyle Seager’s wife Julie left baseball fans stunned with a post on her Twitter account announcing her husband’s retirement after 11 seasons as the Seattle Mariners starting third baseman.
“Today, I’m announcing my retirement from Major League Baseball. Thank you to all of my family, friends, and fans for following me throughout my career. It’s been a wonderful ride but I am unbelievably excited for the next chapter of my life.”

The sudden decision came after Seager’s worst statistical offensive season, having batted just .212 in 2021.

Seager made his Major League debut in July 2011. He secured an everyday role with the Mariners in 2012 and went on to play 11 full seasons in Seattle from 2012 to 2021.
